Gopal Jiu Publications and Sri Krishna Kathamrita magazine were started under the inspiration and instruction of Sri Srimad Gour Govinda Swami Maharaja. Several times Maharaja commented on the society of his spiritual master, His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, “We should work to help uphold the prestige of ISKCON. The best way to do that is to have nice hari-katha and nice vaishnava dealings.” Gopaljiu Publications and Sri Krishna Kathamrita magazine are our humble attempts to help fulfill this desire.

60 pages with 30 in full color.

The latest edition of Sri Krishna Kathamrita was released in Vrindavan at the beginning of the month of Kartika. 4,000 copies were printed of this issue, to respond to the growing demand for the magazine. We are happy to say that as with the past issues, this newest one again received a very enthusiastic response. The most common comment was, “This is the best one yet!”

MAYAPUR FESTIVAL

The annual disappearance festival of Sri Srimad Gour Govinda Swami will be observed on the 18^th and 19^th of February. This festival has become very popular; every year between 15 to 30 senior devotees and sannyasis attend to discuss about Srila Gour Govinda Swami. As we have done the last two years, for this upcoming festival we intend to bring to Mayapur, Sri Damodar Giri Prabhu (the cousin brother of Srila Gour Govinda Swami) and the Gadeigiri kirtan group. We are working now to try to have ready before Srila Gour Govinda Swami’s Disappearance day the following publications:

* Sri Krishna Kathamrita magazine #11, "The Glories of Srimad Bhagavatam"

* An audio CD of Gadeigiri kirtans entitled “The Day Krishna Took Sannyasa”

* A booklet entitled, “The Glories of Srimad Bhagavatam”.

Aside from the above, some of the devotees at the ISKCON Krishna Balaram Mandir in Bhubaneswar have come forward and kindly volunteered to reprint the first four issues of Sri Krishna Kathamrita magazine, which have long been out of stock. They hope to have those magazines ready also in time for Gour Govinda Maharaja’s disappearance day.
